As an Election Specialist in the Elections Calgary office, you will be responsible for designing processes for Election activities for voting stations, support centres and warehouses. You will also be responsible for implementing these processes during the Advance Vote and Election Day periods.
We are hiring for fourteen (14) Election Specialists. Primary duties include:
- Plan for General Election activities, including support centres, area supervisors, kitting, end of night check in processes, and general processes.
- Create instructions for specific tasks performed by the election workers, election clerks or other staff as required.
- Provide or schedule training and onboarding sessions for the area supervisors.
- Act as the first level of escalation for any questions or issues from the logistics clerks or area supervisors.
- Track and report on completed and outstanding work.
- Perform administrative duties such as organizing team meetings, taking minutes, and preparing and organizing materials.
- Scheduling of logistics for voting stations, warehouse or delivery companies, and being onsite to receive deliveries or facilitate voting station set-up.
Qualifications
- A completed 1 year certificate in Business Administration, Applied Business Technology, Economics, Public Administration or related and at least 4 years of related experience OR
- A completed 2 year certificate in Business Administration, Applied Business Technology, Economics, Public Administration or related and at least 2 years of related experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
- Experience in elections or municipal government would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment with a focus on customer service would be considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail accompanied by strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Pre-employment Requirements
- A security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $37.77 - 50.50 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
