About the role:
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)
is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values
and ensures that those values guide all decisions. Creating a caring environment for patients and families ensures

The Strategy and Performance Group supports ongoing strategic and operational planning, and encourages, enables
and supports performance, quality and process improvements for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre,
Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute and system partner operations.
Supported by regional funding and reporting to the Manager, Planning & Performance Improvement, the
Performance Improvement Consultant works closely with organizational and system partners to support planning,
project management and performance improvement related to priority strategic initiatives of the Hospital, Research
Institute and regional partners (i.e. Ontario Health Teams, regional hospitals, and others). Work includes engaging
key stakeholders and facilitating partner sessions to identify and confirm priorities, developing action plans to achieve
desired outcomes, and monitoring and reporting on ongoing progress. The Consultant uses their knowledge,
engagement and process improvement skills to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement, then works
collaboratively with key stakeholders to support development, implementation, and evaluation of improvement plans.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual that is passionate about system transformation and working
collaboratively with a broad range of partners to improve care for the people in Northwestern Ontario.
Employment Requirements:
Education
* University degree in health care, health administration, business or related discipline.
* Formal training (certification preferred) in project management, LEAN continuous improvement, and change
management.
Experience
* A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in application of improvement methodologies and/or project
management.
Specific demonstrated experience in:
* Proactively managing initiatives to achieve desired outcomes.
* Leading project teams full cycle from project initiation to project close.
* Employing comprehensive process improvement tools and change management methodologies, preferably in a
health care environment.
Skills
* Excellent communication, interpersonal & collaboration skills.
* Advanced problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Team player with the ability to influence and persuade.
* Proven ability to work with collaboratively with leaders to front line staff of complex healthcare/service organizations
to bring about improvement and to achieve results.
* Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize workload to meet various deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge
* Advanced clinical and/or business acumen.
* Working knowledge of the health care system.
Salary Range: $45.351 to 53.354
