The Opportunity Leavitt Machinery (Advantage Learning Solutions) is looking for an experienced Safety & Equipment Training Instructor to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta . As an Instructor, you will facilitate professional and engaging safety training courses for a diverse range of audiences and experience levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of instructor and training fundamentals and best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities As the Safety & Equipment Training Instructor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate training sessions for groups or individuals at a variety of experience levels, including external customers and internal employees
  • Share expertise on a variety of topics related to safety and operating mobile equipment
  • Build strong relationships with customers and ensure their needs are understood and met
  • Work closely with Sales team to ensure market strategies are implemented effectively
  • Maintain accurate and up to date course records
  • Monitor course material inventories at a branch level and report deficiencies to the Operations Manager as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • At least two years of experience providing instruction and facilitating safety training in a group setting
  • Certification to teach Energy Safety Canada’s H2S, Confined Space, CSO, Elevated Work Platform, and/or Fall Protection courses is a strong asset
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • A valid driver’s license and a reliable method of transportation
  • WHMIS certification and Level 1 First Aid certification
  • Understanding of Alberta legislative and regulatory framework relating to OH&S
  • Equipment operation experience for at least one of the following: forklifts, aerial platforms, skid steers, loaders, excavators and/or cranes is an asset
  • Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Availability to accommodate a flexible work schedule (5 days per week), including weekends, to accommodate customer schedules as required

The base pay range for this role is: $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
