In this role, you will help bridge the gap between data and business needs in data-driven decision making, performance tracking and data analytics. You will also provide mentoring and technical coaching to Analysts on the team, including training, quality control and support for complex projects. Primary duties include:
- Develop, maintain, and upgrade self-serve data reporting platforms for internal clients, with a focus on complex analyses, reports, and dashboards.
- Engage clients to develop dashboards that meet business needs.
- Complete complex and time sensitive analytics requests from the business or media that requires deep technical and operational knowledge.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver regular analytics reports to business teams and senior clients using various tools across analytics, visualization, reporting and research. Develop and present reports to managers on business performance, forecasts, and other analytics.
- Lead complex larger-scale analytics projects using strong knowledge of analytics techniques and tools.
- Mentor and support Analysts on the team by sharing technical expertise, providing training and reviewing high-impact deliverables.
Qualifications
- A degree in data analytics, science, engineering, specialized analytics programs, planning, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in data analytics, data reporting, business intelligence, data visualization, or related capacity in a large complex organization while supporting leadership with operational or strategic decision making.
- Experience in data analytics, data reporting, data architecture methodologies, technologies, and tools will be considered as assets.
- Proficiency with data analytical software including SQL, Power BI, Python, R, and related packages will be considered as assets.
- Experience with mentoring employees and sharing technical knowledge, both orally and written, will be considered as assets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential for the success in this role.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35-hour work week
