About the role
Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Compounding Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Neighbourly BC Central Fill Solutions in Burnaby, BC.
Flexible availability is required Monday-Friday, between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM.
Responsibilities:
- This role is responsible for performing specific central fill functions as outlined by provincial regulations and standards of practice
- Assemble prescription medications in compliance with the company's quality and productivity standards
- Assemble the products continuously and repetitively in a clean environment
- Pulling, counting, labelling, and compounding prescriptions
- Preparation of compliance packaging for LTC homes
- Operation of automated packaging equipment
- Inventory, ordering, processing, and receiving
- Preparation of orders, checking and fixing packaging before delivery
- Handle small materials for assembly
- Keep the workplace clean, neat, and professional
- Carry out checks to ensure the quality of the work done
- Identify problems and causes related to production and notify your supervisor
- Propose continuous improvement methods
- Ensure manufacturing process efficiency and accuracy
- Requisition of supplies and materials
- Perform production processes both accurately and timely
- Prepare production reports
- Manage operation machinery aligned with the computer system
- Provide strategic solutions to ensure production objectives are met
- Miscellaneous tasks to support the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacists, and central fill operations
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred
- Compounding experience is considered an asset
- Experience in a Central Fill setting or Long-Term Care Pharmacy is considered an asset
- Familiarity with Synmed automation systems (or similar automated dispensing systems) is an advantage
- Proficiency in Kroll pharmacy software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
