About the role

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Compounding Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Neighbourly BC Central Fill Solutions in Burnaby, BC.

Flexible availability is required Monday-Friday, between 6:30 AM and 6:30 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for performing specific central fill functions as outlined by provincial regulations and standards of practice
  • Assemble prescription medications in compliance with the company's quality and productivity standards
  • Assemble the products continuously and repetitively in a clean environment
  • Pulling, counting, labelling, and compounding prescriptions
  • Preparation of compliance packaging for LTC homes
  • Operation of automated packaging equipment
  • Inventory, ordering, processing, and receiving
  • Preparation of orders, checking and fixing packaging before delivery
  • Handle small materials for assembly
  • Keep the workplace clean, neat, and professional
  • Carry out checks to ensure the quality of the work done
  • Identify problems and causes related to production and notify your supervisor
  • Propose continuous improvement methods
  • Ensure manufacturing process efficiency and accuracy
  • Requisition of supplies and materials
  • Perform production processes both accurately and timely
  • Prepare production reports
  • Manage operation machinery aligned with the computer system
  • Provide strategic solutions to ensure production objectives are met
  • Miscellaneous tasks to support the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacists, and central fill operations

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred
  • Compounding experience is considered an asset
  • Experience in a Central Fill setting or Long-Term Care Pharmacy is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Synmed automation systems (or similar automated dispensing systems) is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Kroll pharmacy software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
