About the role
Responsibilities JOIN OUR TEAM The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the successful operation of all food and beverage revenue centers within the hotel, including banquets, the restaurant(s), and the lounge. This role involves overseeing all aspects of each department to ensure adherence to standards, while maximizing revenues and achieving guest satisfaction goals. The Food and Beverage Manager is also accountable for staffing, training, scheduling, inventory control, and cost management. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and maximize revenue opportunities in both the restaurant and banquet areas. Foster a revenue-focused culture and instill this mindset in all areas of Food & Beverage. Create action plans to achieve financial results for all Food & Beverage revenue centers.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness, including inventory control, managing labor costs, and other cost management.
- Approve and monitor schedules for all departments. In the absence of Assistant Managers, the Food and Beverage Manager will prepare the schedules according to business volumes in all departments to ensure optimal coverage and service levels, while achieving overall labor targets.
- Recruit, hire, and train staff, ensuring they are customer service-focused and equipped with the skills needed to excel in their roles.
- Mentor and develop staff, providing ongoing training and support to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee the planning and execution of banquets and events, ensuring all details are handled professionally and to the highest standards. Participate in event order meetings as required to review upcoming events and functions.
- Conduct regular inspections of the front of the house to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
- Adhere to all Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA)regulations and ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
- Participate in weekly department head meetings.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and leadership abilities
- Strong technology skills, with proficiency in various software platforms.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Flexible and adaptable to constant change
- This role requires the ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts
