Company Description

The Toronto Foundation for Youth Involvement in Politics (TFYIP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging youth in politics through its youth political engagement institute and TFYIP Youth Issues Forum event programming. Founded by Javon Samuel and Viktor Elias, TFYIP aims to empower youth voices and promote civic participation.

Role Description

This is a volunteer remote role for a Chief Marketing Officer at TFYIP . The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for market planning, supervision of marketing team staff, market research, public relations, marketing management, and sales activities to enhance youth participation in politics and engagement with TFYIP initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops weekly end operational status reports and sends them to Deputy CEO for review and feedback- outlining successes achieved within the department, assigned work tasks completion follow-ups, issues or concerns shared by staff within department, etc and follows up with Deputy CEO/COO and CEO
  • Responsible for developing our marketing and promotion strategy, for promoting the TFYIP's programs and services to youth populations and locations where youth exist
  • Supervises all marketing staff- social media/partnerships mgr, marketing strategist, etc
  • Develops and oversees our monthly end newsletter to al subscribers via email marketing , reports when fees need to be paid for the email marketing service we use, informs CFO of this
  • Develops a digital marketing strategy for promoting of our services and programming amongst youth populations, through our website and social media platforms
  • Develops our email marketing strategy , maintains and manages engagement list of subscribed stakeholders, ensures we are getting critical info required out there to subscribed stakeholders when needed
  • Develops a monthly social media frequency plan- based on important holidays in the calendar, important youth specific holidays, such as: World Youth Day, etc and posts based on identified topics to incorporate by CEO on a weekly basis
  • Oversees and manages our social media platforms and posts on a set frequency, this includes: Instagram and Twitter pages and responds to all messages sent in via these platforms and shares with communications and stakeholder department for follow-up
  • Develops a social media strategy, focussed on: prohibited postage content on our social media platforms, the need of approval from CEO or Deputy CEO prior to posts being uploaded onto social media profiles of the TFYIP, login details policies and confidentiality, etc.
  • Oversees partnerships and develops the partnerships strategy at the TFYIP , including: development of our partnerships strategy, which includes identifying top priority partnerships that align with our mission and mandate at the TFYIP, maintaining constant partner engagement via email marketing- newsletters, email follow-ups, etc, participate in and schedule meetings with interested partners who reach out, etc.

Qualifications

  • Market Planning, Marketing Management, and Sales skills
  • Experience in conducting market research and public relations
  • Demonstrated ability in strategic marketing planning
  • Digital, Email and general marketing knowledge and skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Knowledge of youth engagement strategies via social media platforms and website
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
