About the role
The Industrial Millwright is responsible for installing, dismantling, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment relied on to produce goods according to company plans, blueprints and other diagrams. This position requires that the Millwright troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic problems with associated equipment. This position is also responsible for repairing malfunctioning equipment such as motors, pumps, valves, controls and other machines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Inspects machinery as it arrives, unload the parts, and then assemble them with the safe and effective use of hand and power tools
- Relocates unassembled equipment as it arrives, positioning the machinery and pieces that need to be assembled, using hoists, dollies and trucks
- Interprets blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures
- Dismantles machines by using hammers, crowbars, wrenches and other hand or power tools
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum Experience Required
- Five (5) years of related experience
License(s) And/or Certification(s) Required
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certification (433A)
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures
