The Opportunity TC Energy’s External Relations group in Canada is currently looking to hire a Governance Analyst, which can be based in Vancouver, B.C. or Calgary, A.B.
Reporting to the Manager, Strategy, Governance & Planning, this role will be critical to improving business processes that help transform the work of the External Relations Canada team. They will support the team’s strategic initiatives by identifying, analyzing, and optimizing business processes, ensuring alignment with our strategy, objectives, and technology solutions.
This role will have the ability to make a real impact by transforming the ways we work as one team and ultimately support our mission of building and sustaining support for TC Energy’s projects and operations.
What you’ll do
- Make things better: Analyze and document current business processes, understand real world usage and impacts, and implement improvements. Implement smarter ways to manage processes, data and information.
- Solve problems: Bring a structured approach to problem-solving, a passion for process efficiency, and manage the adoption of solutions by the team.
- Defend the strategy: Design governance processes that align with External Relations Canada’s strategic objectives, identify and resolve obstacles to our strategic direction, and be an internal advocate for our strategy.
- Connect the dots: Work closely with stakeholders across the External Relations Canada team and collaborate with other TC Energy groups (e.g. Information Services, Finance, Legal, and related Business Units) to ensure our tools support improved processes.
- Facilitate change: Support change management efforts and help teams adopt new processes and tools.
- Sustain the wins: Be a champion for continuous improvement, ensuring that process improvements are effectively implemented, sustained, and refined.
- Keep us organized: Develop and maintain process documentation, KPIs, and reporting products. Oversee the active tasks associated with Strategy, Governance, and Planning, ensuring that tactics are coordinated and tracking to plan.
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience with demonstrated expertise in business process management will also be considered
- 2 years of related experience in business analysis or process improvement roles
- Ability to translate business needs into clear process flows and functional requirements
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on measurable outcome
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform environments
- Exposure to Dynamics 365 or collaboration with technical teams on system-enabled process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven problem-solver who gets excited about finding better ways to do things
- Knowledge of business process modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN)
- Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience working in or supporting External Relations teams and projects within the energy industry
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to support process performance tracking
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
This position requires candidates to:
- Have current, valid authorization to work within Canada
- Occasionally be available for extended work hours outside of standard business hours, call-out support and emergency support
