About the role

A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its financial reporting team. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Accounting & Reporting, this role involves financial analysis, monthly and annual reporting, and collaboration with operational leaders to assess and interpret financial results. The successful candidate will help prepare financial statements for year-end audit, support strategic decision-making with evidence-based insights, and drive continuous process improvements in reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-End & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses for month-end close
  • Ensure compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
  • Draft briefing notes and summaries for senior leadership on financial performance

Program & Business Unit Support

  • Act as a subject matter expert for an assigned portfolio
  • Present financial results to program managers and directors
  • Develop forecasts and recommend actions to meet budget targets

External Reporting & Treasury

  • Prepare Ministry and statutory reporting, year-end financial statements, and supporting schedules
  • Support liquidity management through cash forecasting and bank reconciliations
  • Identify and implement process improvements in treasury functions

Other Duties

  • Participate in special projects and working groups
  • Learn and apply Management Information Standards (MIS)
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process efficiency and automation

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) with 3–4 years of post-designation experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement
  • Preferred experience in public sector or healthcare finance (e.g., Ministry reporting, MIS guidelines)
