About the role
Reporting to the Distribution Design Supervisor, this position is responsible for preparing and designing all types of projects in one of three areas: overhead electrical distribution system, underground electrical distribution system or customer service connections, and performing all associated project management functions until completion of construction. Note that this role would primarily be based out of the Victoria Street location.

Intermediate knowledge of Utility Construction Standards and Enova Conditions of Service

Intermediate knowledge of Enova Metering Specifications and of industry regulations and standards (Ontario Electric Safety Code, Ontario Building Code, Canadian Standards Association Regulations)

Intermediate knowledge of AC electrical theory, Construction and Surveying Methods

Basic knowledge of structural engineering theory
Experience

1-3 years’ related experience

Valid Class “G” driver’s licence
Major (Primary) Responsibilities
- Prepare designs for overhead or underground distribution systems or customer connections in accordance with established standards.
- Provide guidance, instruction and direction to outside parties in response to inquiries regarding modifications to the electrical distribution system.
- Coordinate activities with various stakeholders and ensure all permits, consent and approvals are in place prior to the start of construction and prepare correspondence regarding project as necessary.
- Prepare estimates, work schedules, generate materials lists and order material consistent with project timelines.
- Inspect contractors and completed work to ensure Enova standards are met and complete Construction Verification documents for underground civil projects.
- Monitor and report project progress.
- Handle construction change orders.
- Complete project close activities and update engineering records.
- Review and confirm all project related invoices.
- Negotiate and acquire Enova easements, right of ways, and other properties and interests
