Ocean Optometry Inc is a vibrant independent optometry business consisting of 4 offices and two distribution companies. We are looking forward to bringing on board an enthusiastic, collaborative, solutions-oriented, and organized individual to the brigade.
We are looking for someone wanting to grow and develop in this role and make it their own. You will learn the ins and outs from the unique position of administrative clerk alongside our owners, Leadership Team, Accounting Technician and Business Support Administrator.
This is an entry level position with room to grow for the right candidate and we are happy to invest in future training with demonstrated aptitude and commitment.

What will this look like?
Although there is an allocated desk and room to conduct your work, you’ll be working in a relaxed and open space environment with the owners and/or leadership team regularly working from the adjacent office area.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Responding to inquiries from clients of distribution company by phone and email
- Picking, packing, and preparing shipment of orders
- Billing and payment processing for clients
- Receive and process new inventory as it arrives: process discontinued items, warranties
- Input optometrist schedules for clinics
- Monthly newsletter
- Organize and set up meetings for Leadership Team- Take minutes
- Collaborate with Leadership Team on projects
There will be plenty of room to grow and evolve alongside the company.
- You will help to develop new systems and procedures.
- Sponsorship in further training available i.e., social media, marketing, further administrative training.
- Opportunity to shape this role and make it your own.
What you’ll need to bring.
We are a spontaneous and energetic bunch and have big aspirations! So, for the right candidate this will be an exciting position, but we will need some base skills and experience to ensure we can be confident to let you free.
- 1yr Administrative experience, Customer service experience is an asset.
- Strong Communications Skills – Oral and Written
- Excellent Time Management- self motivator
- A fluency in Google and Microsoft Office suites
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- A passionate commitment to customer service both internal and external.
- Demonstrated Organization and Planning skills
- An abundance of Integrity and discretion
- Creative troubleshooting skills
- Hard work and positive energy
- The ability to think outside of the box
- A spirited sense of fun
Brigade Schedule 40- 42.5 hrs. per week- Monday - Friday 9-5:30
(Some projects may require work on evenings and Saturdays)

- $15.50-16.50 per hour to start
