Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets.
We are looking for an energetic and results oriented Leasing Representative to join our team in Mississauga, ON on a full-time basis. We offer a competitive salary plus commission structure and training and support to help you launch your career with Killam.
Responsibilities:
- Field all leasing communication by phone, email and in person;
- Perform showings of suites and tours of properties;
- Follow up with prospective tenants after showing to close the sale;
- Assist with administrative duties;
- Manage electronic advertisements;
- Process applications and lease signings;
- Perform bi-weekly market surveys;
- Utilize Yardi Customer Relationship Software in day to day leasing functions;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, or experience in the property management and/or real estate industry;
- 1-2 years’ experience in sales, marketing and/or customer service;
- A Bachelor’s degree is considered an asset;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Previous experience posting ads on Kijiji, and familiarity with Yardi is considered an asset;
- Must be flexible and able to work evenings/weekends.
