Job Overview:
Bevy is seeking a highly driven Director of Business Development to lead our relationship-building and growth efforts across North America. We’re not looking for a traditional sales rep. We’re looking for a connector, a relationship builder, and a growth strategist who can open doors, build relationships with Shopify folks, create opportunity, and increase our inbound and outbound pipeline of qualified leads.
This is a high-impact role for someone with deep industry connections and a proven ability to generate deal flow, not necessarily close deals, but bring in warm, qualified, and valuable leads that our sales team will convert.
What You’ll Do:
1. Lead Business Development Strategy:
- Define and execute the business development roadmap aligned with Bevy’s goals.
- Identify and target strategic opportunities across Shopify Plus brands, technology partners, and channel alliances.
- Work closely with leadership to set growth targets and monitor pipeline metrics.
2. Own Relationship Management:
- Nurture and grow key relationships with internal stakeholders at Shopify, external solution providers, and strategic accounts.
- Coordinate co-marketing initiatives, events, and collaboration opportunities with ecosystem partners.
3. Drive Lead Generation and Deal Flow:
- Identify and develop a robust pipeline of qualified leads through outreach, referrals, events, and partnerships.
- Execute outbound strategies to target and engage with potential clients and partners
- Establish and grow relationships with VC and PE firms to become their go-to partner for their portfolio brands.
4. Support Account Expansion:
- Partner with the delivery and client success teams to identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
- Help secure new mandates by surfacing new problems we can solve and proactively engaging decision-makers.
5. Represent Bevy at Industry Events:
- Attend major Shopify events and eCommerce conferences to promote Bevy and forge new partnerships.
- Represent Bevy as a thought leader in discussions around eCommerce strategy, omnichannel retail, and technology implementation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 6+ years in business development or partner management roles, ideally within the Shopify ecosystem or a top-tier eCommerce agency.
- Network: Strong existing relationships with Shopify teams and/or relevant eCommerce SaaS providers.
- Sales Expertise: Proven ability to close six- and seven-figure service deals with mid-market or enterprise clients.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align BD initiatives with overall company vision and long-term growth plans.
- Execution: Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to identify, nurture, and close deals directly.
- Collaboration: Strong internal communicator who can coordinate across leadership, sales, marketing, and delivery teams.
- Presentation Skills: Confident storyteller who can tailor the Bevy narrative for different audiences—from C-level executives to partnership leads.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working within or alongside Shopify Plus or Shopify POS teams.
- Exposure to retail, omnichannel commerce, or consumer brand ecosystems.
- Familiarity with CRM tools like HubSpot or Salesforce.
