GraceMed Kitchener is looking for an Operating Room Manager to join our team.

What you’ll do:

- Oversee day-to-day operations of the operating room to ensure safety, efficiency, and smooth workflowOptimize patient flow and surgical schedules
- Support the team clinically as needed, including in OR nurse or scrub nurse roles
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate OR staff (nurses and MDR technicians)
- Foster a collaborative, professional environment that supports staff development
- Manage staff, equipment, and supply allocation based on surgical needs and cost-efficiency
- Work with the Clinic Manager and MDR-T to monitor and maintain surgical inventory
- Implement and uphold patient safety, quality assurance, and infection control protocols
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and lead the accreditation process
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to implement emergency preparedness protocols
- Work closely with surgeons and the surgical team to improve outcomes and patient care
- Streamline pre-op and post-op workflows in coordination with the broader team
- Contribute to OR budgeting and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure timely and accurate chart audits in accordance with CPSO standards
What you will bring along:

- Must be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Knowledge of surgical procedures performed at GraceMed
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Completion of legislated Health and Safety training and WHMIS training
- Ability to build strong rapport with patients and OR team members
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, aligned with GraceMed’s values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in EMR (Electronic Medical Records), PMS (Patient Management Systems), and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong time management, organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Solid understanding of patient safety protocols and interventions
- Demonstrates knowledge, skill, and judgment to critically assess and intervene with changes in patient condition
- Membership with RNAO and Professional Liability Protection (PLP) or CNO-approved PLP (required)
- Must be BLS certified
- ACLS certification is considered an asset and will be required after hire

Preference will be given to Nurse candidates with previous OR experience and certification from a reputable OR Course.
