Job Description Job Title: Production Supervisor

We are looking for a Production Supervisor supporting our Resin Production Facility (Expandable Polystyrene) in Crossfield, AB.
Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met. This role supervises frontline production staff, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains adherence to SOPs and workplace safety practices. The Supervisor works closely with the Production Manager and other departments to ensure efficient production and a high-performance team environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety protocols and monitoring safety metrics.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area in accordance with ISO 14001 environmental standards.
- Monitor production lines for quality assurance, conduct in-process inspections, and support root cause analysis for product defects.
- Supervise daily production activities, assign work, manage scheduling, and adjust labor to meet operational goals.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and update them as required.
- Provide on-the-job training for production staff and ensure competency in operating procedures and safety practices.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and ensure preventive maintenance is performed.
- Assist in tracking material usage and inventory control to support production efficiency.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement efforts and support the Carlisle Operating System (COS) initiatives.
- Participate in employee performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action processes.
- Support employee engagement and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Ability to supervise and motivate teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with chemical or polymer processing is preferred.
- Experience in inventory and production control processes.
- Solid understanding of safety and environmental compliance standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Commitment to personal integrity and leading by example.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
Continuous Improvement

Education And Experience
- Required:
o High School Diploma or equivalent
o 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Preferred:
o Technical diploma or Associate's degree
o Experience in a chemical processing or industrial production setting
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced chemical process operations/manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient/outside temperatures, noise, and mechanical equipment.
- 40 hours per week with potential for overtime and weekend shifts as required.
- Use of hand tools and computer systems.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used
- Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor.
- Safety toe shoes (steel/composite)
- Hi-Vis Vests
- Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.
