| What we are looking for
As a Lead, Technology Governance, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust technology governance frameworks that align with Payments Canada’s strategic objectives. You will collaborate across key enterprise domains, including Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data Governance, and Information Management to ensure a harmonized governance environment that supports innovation, compliance, and operational excellence.
| A day in the life
Your responsibilities as the Lead, Technology Governance will include but are not limited to:
Governance Framework Development and Oversight:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve technology governance frameworks, standards, and procedures to align with enterprise strategies and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data Governance, and Information Management teams to ensure end-to-end governance alignment.
Process Improvement & Operational Effectiveness:
- Manage continuous improvement initiatives to optimize governance processes, controls, and reporting mechanisms.
Data and Information Governance:
- Support the integration and maturity of the data governance function by developing policies, classification standards, metadata rules, and handling protocols.
Training, Enablement & Change Management:
- Deliver training and enablement programs to raise awareness and adoption of governance practices.
|What you need to be successful
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Management Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in technology governance, enterprise architecture, security governance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop governance frameworks across multiple technology domains (architecture, security, data, applications).
- Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and navigating complex enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of leading frameworks and standards (e.g., COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL, ISO 27001, NIST).
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance initiatives or working in regulated industries (e.g., financial services).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.
- Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.
| Salary range
- Based on qualifications and experience: $112,364 and $140,455.
