As the Information Technology Senior Quality Assurance Analyst (IT SQAA) you will be responsible to lead and deliver on the quality assurance process. The position develops and implements comprehensive test strategies, creates and maintains detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases, and oversees the execution of tests across different platforms and environments before releasing the product to the public. As the Senior QA Analyst, you will explore and recommend opportunities to integrate automation into testing applications. Primary duties include:

  • Undertake requirement analyses with good understanding of acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with the Development team to execute tests on multiple environments, including QA, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production environments.
  • Conduct automation and API testing using available tools and execute manual test cases with ability to analyze the test results.
  • Troubleshoot issues, ensure detailed and clear logging of defects, documentation of test cases and test findings.
  • Work closely with Product and Development teams to review solutions recommended by Developers or others for complex application change requests, ensuring they meet security standards and approved requirements.

Qualifications

  • A completed 2 year diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, and at least 8 years of related experience; OR
  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, and at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience in Automated Testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Appium, or TestNG and incorporating test automation into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is required.
  • Working knowledge of defect management, test case management and test reporting tools and on Representational State Transfer (REST) API testing and performance tools like SoapUI, JMeter and Postman will be considered an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of data security, data privacy and penetration testing using tools like Burp suites etc. will be considered an asset.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to plan and organize complex tasks while providing leadership to other Quality Assurance Analysts is required.
  • Ability to work independently and quickly acquire new knowledge and technical skills.
  • You are a team player and are able to demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • You have a customer service focus, the ability to develop trusted relationships, and the ability to work strategically as well as operationally.

Pre-employment Requirements

  • A security clearance will be conducted.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
