Your role:
- Enjoy interacting with the public
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanour
- Drive one of several different buses in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area within a daily assigned time schedule
- Maintain the appearance of the interior of the bus
- Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required
- Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids
- Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents, and communicate with dispatch as required
- Perform all other duties assigned
Essential Criteria:
- A willingness to work a variety of shifts
- The ability to demonstrate proficiency in the safe and effective operation of a transit vehicle
- Demonstrated ability to communicate/interact with the public (all levels of comprehension), management and other staff members in a courteous/respectful/efficient manner and to answer a variety of enquiries with tact and discretion
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Conditions of Employment:
- A valid Class 4F License (required)
- Driver’s Abstract
- Child Abuse Registry Check (Max 60 days issued)
- Adult Abuse Registry Check (Max 60 days issued)
- Criminal Record Check- W/ Vulnerable Sector (Max 60 days issued)
