EPCOR’s Valuations team is hiring a Valuation Analyst**[Full-Time Permanent]** position working out of Edmonton, AB. We welcome applications from both internal and external candidates. The Valuation Analyst position presents an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, analytical environment and is passionate about supporting strategic investment decisions.

In this role, you’ll play a key role in evaluating asset acquisition, divestiture, and development projects. You will be working closely with the Valuation Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality financial models for ongoing analytics, support due diligence on investment opportunities and contribute to EPCOR’s long-term planning and investment strategy.

What you’d be responsible for

Reporting to the Valuation Manager, your key accountabilities include (but are not limited to these):

Valuation & Financial Analysis

  • Supporting the evaluation of acquisition, divestiture, and development opportunities through detailed financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Assisting in the preparation of business cases and investment recommendations for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Conducting commercial due diligence, including market research, risk assessment, and financial benchmarking.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Contributing to the development of the Valuation’s team long-term plan by providing valuation insights and financial forecasts.
  • Supporting the Valuation team in aligning valuation activities with broader financial strategies and capital planning.
  • Preparing and presenting financial analysis and insights to internal stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable format.

Collaboration & Execution

  • Working cross-functionally with teams in Finance, Legal, Operations, and Corporate Development to ensure alignment and accuracy in project evaluations.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of valuation inputs for ongoing and ad hoc projects.
  • Demonstrating a high-performance, disciplined, and customer-focused approach to work.

What’s required to be successful

Education

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Progress toward a professional designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is considered an asset.

Experience

  • 4**+ years** of relevant experience in finance, investment analysis, corporate development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial modeling, valuation techniques (Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), precedent transactions, comparable multiples), and investment analysis.
  • Familiarity with commercial agreements, risk management principles, and legal considerations in transactions is an asset.

Skills & Behaviors

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and competency in statistical and financial mathematics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modeling tools or platforms**.**
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights.
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
