Your opportunity:

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent willsupport a range of projects being carried out by the Indigenous Oral Health Research Group at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. This position will provide effective and efficient service and support for research administration, database administration, research communications, coordinating daily activities and logistics, and other research initiatives. This position will oversee data collection and analysis for the research project on the impact of cannabis use on the oral health of Indigenous Peoples.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and posting adverts to recruit study participants
  • Designing online/ offline clinical survey forms and questionnaires for data collection
  • Disseminating and collecting research surveys and questionnaires
  • Entering and analysing data using RedCap, R, SPSS, and Stata for oral health surveys and clincial studies. Summarizing survey data analysis results in tables and graphs.
  • Handling sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Coding quantitative research data
  • Maintaining a databases and website
  • Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one year experience in research with Indigenous communities.
  • Experience working with and understanding of the First Nations Principles of OCAP®.
  • Experience with coordinating research studies, including recruitment, scheduling, and data collection.
  • Ensuring that the First Nations Principles of OCAP® are closely followed when working with First Nations peoples and data in research.
  • Strong computer skills with experience MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), database systems, survey tools and statistical software.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of coding quantitative data, analyzing datasets, and maintaining databases using RedCap, R, SPSS, and Stata
  • Ability to synthesize and format data for reports and presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills, and balance competing priorities.
  • Possess tact, discretion and good judgement in dealing with confidential information.

  • Experience with Project Management
  • Experience analyzing epidemiological and clinical oral health data
