Foremost has an immediate opening for a Business Analyst – Software Implementation, to join our team in Calgary or Lloydminster for a 12-month maternity leave coverage. Reporting to the Business Analyst and RPA Manager, in this role you will work directly with project stakeholders and with IT teammates acting as liaison between both groups. This will require the capability to understand and document business activities, work with business stakeholders to clarify, or define new business requirements, coordinate IT activities, and ensure training and documentation activities are completed.

*PLEASE NOTE: This role is an in-person position. The successful candidate will be working out of the Calgary Office. Remote work is not available for this position*

Key Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation of various software systems, understanding their core functionality, configuration, and potential pitfalls. Identify opportunities for customization to suit organizational needs. Liaise with and develop strong working relationships with project teams, sponsors, vendors, technical staff and end users
• Analyze, define and document complex business and system requirements to ensure traceability through solution design, testing and implementation
• Participate in product evaluations, vendor assessments and competitions as necessary
• Develop and deliver training to end-users across different departments, translating complex technical concepts into simple, understandable language where required. Provide problem solving and innovative solutions to organizational bottlenecks.
• Facilitates change management during software transitions, addressing staff concerns and resistance effectively. Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies to the Project Manager
• Facilitate meetings of various settings between Stakeholder and IT; one on one or in groups
• Determine requirements-based priority and work estimates.
• Proactively communicate potentially challenging recommendations
• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

• A University Degree in a related field
• Business analysis training or equivalent e.g. Certificate of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), Certified Business Analysis (CBAP), Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA)
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Business Analyst with experience in software implementations
• Experience in analyzing, implementing and configuring software systems built on various frameworks and languages. Demonstrable experience in managing change during software implementation, with the ability to address staff concerns and resistance effectively.
• Advanced understanding of SQL and database management systems required
• Advanced Word, intermediate Excel
• Advanced oral and written communication skills; demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
• Ability to quickly adapt to new methods and meet strict deadlines
• Advanced investigative and nalytical problem solving skills
• Advanced ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously
• Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
• Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
• Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
• Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines

• This position will require travel to other sites within Alberta (up to 30%)
