Intermediate to Senior Marine Biologist
About the role
Our client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Marine Biologist to join their Marine Services Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead marine biological assessments, habitat restoration, and environmental impact studies
- Plan and conduct marine field surveys (e.g., habitat mapping, species inventories, water quality monitoring)
- Analyze data and prepare clear, well-organized technical reports
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and project success
Qualifications:
- Degree in Marine Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field (M.Sc. preferred)
- Registered (or eligible) as an RPBio in British Columbia
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in environmental consulting
- Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems, environmental permitting, and impact assessment processes
- Proven experience with marine construction monitoring, water/sediment quality monitoring, habitat and species assessments, and regulatory compliance
- Strong project management, organization, and leadership abilities
