EXPONENTIAL GROWTH. UNLIMITED VACATION. INCREDIBLE TEAM.
Join the fastest-growing Mergers and Acquisition firm in North America.
Are you someone who thrives on structure, precision, and high output — but also loves improving how things are done?
We’re looking for an M&A Opportunity Scout who can systematically source and qualify 100+ high-quality acquisition targets per day for our private equity clients and advisor network.
WHO YOU ARE
Part researcher, part business analyst and part matchmaker — you’ll help identify private companies that fit our clients’ mandates and our firm’s high standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys focused, independent work, leverages data and tools to move fast, and finds satisfaction in seeing measurable results.
You’ll operate at the core of our deal origination engine — using research tools, repeatable systems, and your business instincts to help us match the right buyers to the right founders. You won’t just pull lists. You’ll build strategic filters, optimize workflows, and spot patterns that others miss.
Your efforts will play a crucial role in ensuring our sales team targets are met, our private equity partners are well-supported with high-quality opportunities, and our network of advisors has a steady pipeline of qualified business leads.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Identify and research potential acquisition targets using tools like LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, Apollo, Seamless.ai, Data Axle
- Build and refine target lists based on specific criteria (industry, size, geography, ownership).
- Analyze companies for fit: ownership structure, succession signals, market position, and cultural alignment.
- Track and manage opportunities within our CRM and sourcing workflow.
- Support advisors with research that informs outreach, positioning, and next steps.
- Stay curious — dig into sectors, founders, and companies that others overlook.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- You love producing high-quality work quickly and efficiently
- You’re organized, structured, and methodical — without being rigid
- You’re confident using sourcing platforms (ZoomInfo, Apollo, LinkedIn, etc.)
- You’re curious about how businesses work and what makes a company valuable
- You’re motivated by autonomy, clear expectations, and real impact
WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS ROLE
- You’ll own a clear and measurable part of our M&A engine
- You’ll work independently, with support and collaboration from smart teammates
- You’ll have the space to optimize, experiment, and grow
- You’ll help real entrepreneurs realize life-changing exits
WHAT DO WE DO?
Our team helps North American business owners with revenues between $3 – $50 million on M&A growth and exit strategies.`
WHAT IS IT LIKE AT OPNROAD?
- Our team has an “owner mentality” vs an “employee mentality” - rising to leadership challenges and responsibilities.
- Our team works between 8am - 5pm PST but we offer flexible work hours designed to fit your lifestyle, with a focus on outcomes and deliverables rather than set schedules.
- After 1 year, employees are eligible for an unlimited vacation work model.
- Daily & weekly meetings to ensure any barriers to your success are removed.
- We use Zoho Cliq for daily communication and collaboration. (Very similar to Slack)
- We use Zoho CRM to track all of our tasks, leads, prospects, and our client projects.
- We focus on completing the most important tasks first, so our team and clients are supported.
- We operate in a professional industry and dress the part when client-facing, but our work environment and culture could be described as “west coast” business casual.
- BSG is an open-book company, meaning every team member has access to the company’s financials, sales pipeline, and individuals performance.
- Our growing team is fun, highly motivated, intelligent, and driven to achieve their personal goals!
