Job Responsibilities
Electrical Design (90% of duties)
- Perform guided design work for projects utilizing principles of electrical engineering.
- Utilize computer software, drawings, and other tools to perform engineering tasks. Use design and analysis software including AutoCad, power systems modeling (SKM, ETAP, CDEGS etc) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
- Assist in coordinating manufacturing, installation, maintenance support documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specification, codes, and design requirements.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation with relevant test reports, drawings, calculations, and pictures.
- Assist in establishing construction, manufacturing, testing, or design standards.
- Assist in inspecting completed installations to ensure conformance.
- Assist in root cause analysis of electrical events and failures.
- Review drawings to ensure technical and regulatory compliance. Use basic electrical and control system principles to design electrical schematics, single and three-line diagrams and control/communication diagrams.
- Provide information and technical support to internal and external customers that meet customer and company expectations. Coordinate with customers regarding specification/design questions and clarifications.
- Able to follow directions regarding assignment and customer expectation on projects.
- Review completed jobs to ensure the job meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Work with purchasing and vendors to receive quotes and lead times.
- Coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives as directed.
- Assist in problem-solving initiatives to analyze quality failures and help drive quality improvements.
- As directed, identify processes needing improvement and make recommendations towards improvement.
- Understand and follows company specific safety polices.
- Able to work paid overtime (nights and weekends) as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Electrical Testing (10% of duties)
- Assist in performing power testing and maintenance of protective relays, medium and low voltage switchgear switchboards, automatic transfer switches, transformers, capacitors, grounding resistors networking communications, HMIs, and other power distribution components.
- Assist in reviewing project specifications and implementing testing procedures to comply with project requirements under the guidance of direct supervisor.
- Assist in reviewing test plans of large projects against schematics.
- Assist in safety meetings, lockout and tag out, isolation and grounding of electrical equipment.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge using programs including AutoCad, power systems modeling (SKM, ETAP, CDEGS etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
- Written and Verbal Communication skills and interpersonal communication skills; Customer Service focused.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Information
Travel: Up to 40%
