Now Recruiting: Working Board Members | More at Home Society
More at Home Society is a registered nonprofit organization based in British Columbia, working to ensure that low- and moderate-income seniors can age safely and independently at home. We support older adults who fall into the grey area, those quietly falling through the cracks of our current systems. These are individuals being left behind, with 1 in 9 forced into institutional care not because they need it, but because they cannot access the support to remain at home.
We provide financial subsidies for home care services that promote dignity, autonomy, and connection, helping seniors age in place on their own terms.
We are currently seeking passionate and skilled individuals to join our working board of directors. As a fully volunteer run organization, board members take an active role in the development, direction, and daily operations of the organization. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing nonprofit focused on equity, innovation, and systems change.
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or interest in one or more of the following areas:
• Governance and nonprofit policy development
• Grant writing and donor relations
• Legal (particularly nonprofit or elder law)
• Government or community relations
• Volunteer or board management
• Networking and relationship building
• Indigenous relations, LGBTQ2S+ advocacy, or lived experience navigating systemic inequities
• Equity, inclusion, and intersectional practice
• Secretarial or administrative leadership
• Startup, business, or nonprofit founding experience
• Senior sector work, healthcare, or government

By providing financial subsidies to help seniors (60+) without adequate healthcare support access the home care provider of their choice, we ensure every senior we help is one more happier life, stronger family, and tighter community in BC.
