Overnight Asleep Residential Support Worker - RUSSELL, ONTARIO

ROTATIONS ARE A MIXTURE OF DAYS, EVENINGS, & WEEKENDS (EVERY 2ND WEEKEND). WE DO NOT HAVE STRAIGHT DAYS OF MONDAY TO FRIDAY.
FULL TIME (70 hrs bi-weekly)
Rotation
Week 1- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday all 10pm-8am
Week 2- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday all 10pm-8am
Our main office is located in Orleans. This position is for one of our residences in Russell, Ontario.

The Mental Health Residential Support Worker provides person-centered supports to individuals with a developmental disability, physical disability, challenging behaviours and/or a dual diagnosis in residential locations. The Residential Support Worker will work directly with individuals in helping set goals and making healthy life choices.
The Overnight Asleep position is paid an awake rate from 10pm to 12am and paid an asleep rate from 12am to 6am. At 6am the overnight asleep worker will assist with the morning routines and is paid the awake rate from 6am - 8am. Should an individual require assistance throughout the night, the overnight staff will be responsible to assist and will be paid awake hours.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:
- Experience with challenging behavioural, crisis-type situations is required.
- DSW, or relevant education and experience in the field.
- Experience with individualized plans.
- Cooking and cleaning skills preferrable.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to set priorities to manage time within deadlines.
- Ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support new and unacquainted individuals with minimal information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and promote the rights and responsibilities of the individuals.
- Work independently or within a team to prioritize and complete shift requirements while still meeting the individual’s needs.
- Provide support to individuals by carrying out duties and following their support plans, considering their choices, needs, and actively involving them.
- Participate in assessment, goal setting, and program planning for the individual.
- Provide support in areas of personal hygiene.
- Follow through with the individual’s prescribed dietary needs.
- May perform household cleaning duties.
- Develop and maintain respectful and positive cooperative working relationships to contribute to the integrated, seamless delivery of services from ICSS, including individuals, staff, families, etc.
Conditions of Employment:
- Possess a valid driver’s licence.
- Possess a driver’s abstract with less than four minor convictions and no serious convictions.
- Possess valid vehicle insurance.
- Must provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Must provide a valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
- Must provide a letter of good health and documentation indicating all up-to-date applicable immunizations.
