About Lasso Informatics

Lasso Informatics is building the future of biomedical research infrastructure — empowering researchers to securely manage, analyze, and share sensitive data across large-scale longitudinal studies. We support landmark initiatives by providing a trusted platform for genomics, neuroimaging, behavioural, and clinical data collaboration.

Our mission: accelerate science by making it easier to generate insights from complex health data — securely, reproducibly, and at scale with an incredibly easy to use interface.

You thrive in high-velocity environments and bring a strong, relentless bias toward execution. With experience in startups or scale-ups, you understand the pace, pressure, and persistence required to drive meaningful outcomes. You're gritty, resilient, and pragmatic—someone who rolls up their sleeves, embraces ambiguity, and gets things done without waiting for perfect conditions. You don’t just execute solo—you rally teams around shared goals, energizing those around you and driving collective momentum toward results. You solve problems and make things happen.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Owner who thrives in complex, data-rich environments and loves turning stakeholder needs into real-world functionality. In this role, you will take ownership of feature delivery and product lifecycle execution, supporting both brand-new and existing product lines.

You’ll work closely with the CEO and Director of Grants and Partnerships (who set overall product vision) to shape the implementation of new platform modules, while owning the detailed execution work required to make those visions real.

What You'll Be Responsible For****Feature Delivery & Execution

  • Gather and refine detailed requirements from researchers, data managers, and partner institutions across domains such as genomics, neuroimaging, behavioral assessments, and multi-modal, longitudinal data studies.
  • Translate complex needs into clear, actionable user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Own the execution and iteration of features across the entire product lifecycle—from inception through launch to continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the Collaborator Success team to ensure user-facing documentation aligns seamlessly with the detailed product documentation you maintain.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, data analysts, and design to deliver features on time and in scope.
  • Take ownership of Jira as a structured yet flexible operating environment—maintaining clean boards, optimizing workflows, and ensuring it remains a real-time source of truth for the team. You bring both order and adaptability, helping everyone stay aligned and focused on what matters most.

Product Maintenance & New Line Extensions

  • Coordinate feature development and maintenance for net-new product lines and newly released modules
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in recently launched areas based on internal feedback, platform usage, and researcher input
  • Ensure that platform evolution remains aligned with regulatory, reproducibility, and security commitments

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the CEO and Director of Grants and Partnerships to understand product priorities, feature intent, and roadmap context
  • Collaborate with the Director of Partnerships & Grants and Data Analyst team to integrate partner-driven needs into product decisions
  • Participate in agile rituals (standups, grooming, demos, retros) to keep cross-functional teams aligned and unblocked

Ideal Background

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager role in a data-heavy, technically complex environment
  • Deep familiarity with the research data ecosystem — ideally across genomics, neuroimaging, or multi-modal biomedical studies
  • Prior experience supporting tools for longitudinal research or clinical study infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks:
  • NIST 800-53 / FISMA
  • HIPAA / GDPR
  • Data Use Agreements, IRB workflows
  • Technically fluent — comfortable working with APIs, authentication frameworks (OAuth2, Keycloak), access controls, and cloud platforms
  • Outstanding written communication — able to write crisp specs, tickets, and feedback for both engineers and external collaborators.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience working with:
  • Open science standards (e.g., BIDS, CDISC, GA4GH)
  • Visualization and analytics tools
  • Secure sandbox environments for sensitive data exploration
  • Exposure to stakeholder-heavy or grant-driven product cycles
  • A background in neuroscience, bioinformatics, data science, or research support

Why Lasso?

  • Shape the tools powering some of the most ambitious  and impactful studies in the world
  • Work directly with founders and impact product direction at a critical stage of growth

Join a high-trust, low-bureaucracy team that values focus, clarity, and mission-driven work
