Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team, who is available to work days during the school year.. In this role, you will be the face of our food service operation, providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling food orders and transactions. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a positive dining experience for our customers by delivering high-quality service and maintaining food safety standards.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and safety standards.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently.
- Assist customers with menu selections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management as needed. Manage food preparation, including chopping lettuce and vegetables.
- Provide assistance to team members during peak hours to ensure smooth operations.
- Wash dishes and sanitize as per safety standards.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage area, appliances and equipment.
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerator, freezer, and storage areas.
- Sweep and mop dining and kitchen area.
- Clean bathroom as needed.
Skills “
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety practices is essential.
- Proficient in cash handling procedures and operating POS systems.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- A friendly demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service.

Pay: $18.75-$21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 – 37.5 per week
