About the role

OVERVIEW

Acts as a Receptionist and performs clerical duties including data entry in Ansos and maintains statistical information for patient care delivery in the Out Patient Clinics. Relates to patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner and interacts collaboratively with the interdisciplinary staff to provide patient-centered care.

EDUCATION

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent educational preparation.

  • Training related to office administration/office coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of relevant recent experience working as a unit clerk in an outpatient setting required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Demonstrated skill in use of ESM and Powerchart, required.
  • Demonstrated skill in Ansos and SAP/SRM preferred.
  • Experience with internal medicine, infectious disease disciplines preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Computer literacy required; demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent keyboarding skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide patient centred, customer service care.
  • Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and discretion in matters related to patients, staff, and hospital affairs.
  • Able to work independently as well as workin a team environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Must be prepared to work in all areas of Surgical Health Services (skills & abilities considered).
  • Good work and attendance record required.
