Job description

We are seeking a team oriented, professional and driven technician to join our Field Services Technical team. Our company specializes in the installation, maintenance and repair of Fire Alarm Systems as well as Access Control Systems, Burglar Systems, Pedestrian Control Systems, Vehicle and Parking Systems, Video Surveillance, CCTV, Fire Monitoring, and Structured Cabling & Networking.

Fire Monitoring of Canada Inc. is a full-service ULC-listed monitoring company, specializing in the monitoring of premises required to have their fire alarm and sprinkler system monitored under their applicable Codes and Standards. Monitoring and servicing customers throughout Ontario, FMC also provides custom-designed and installed security solutions to include, but not limited to, CCTV, Access Control, Nurse Call, Intercom, and Integrated Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and program new fire alarm and security systems, to include CCTV and Access Control
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with alarms and security systems
  • Perform annual inspection of alarm monitoring equipment
  • Identify risk to customers and provide effective solutions
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on alarm systems
  • Monitor inventory of service parts

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in security installation, maintenance, or other related fields
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Position Requirements:

Minimum: High School diploma, post secondary diploma preferred.

Must possess the following:

  • Be comfortable working with and troubleshooting hardware down to the component level
  • Have proven industry experience
  • Be highly organized, motivated and focused
  • Be capable of working independently
  • Be able to work well in a team
  • Be able to communicate fluently in English (written and oral)
  • Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
  • Must undergo a security check

Definite Assets:

  • Be enrolled in or have CFAA and CANASA ATC certification
  • Previous telco experience
  • Previous Industry Experience
  • Networking Experience
  • Project Management Experience
  • Experience with products such as DSC, Avigilon, Kantech

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
