About the job
As part of the Financial Management Analysis and Reporting team, you will help provide client services in financial and business planning, performance measures and monitoring, program evaluation and organizational excellence. On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to:
• lead business and financial planning for the ministry, including developing strategies, securing resources, and aligning with government priorities
• advise senior management on financial performance, planning, and risk management to support informed decision-making
• support and guide teams by providing leadership, mentoring, and oversight to ensure high-quality work and timely results
• coordinate projects and planning efforts, ensuring ministry and central agency requirements are met efficiently
• evaluate and improve business practices, offering expert insights to enhance program effectiveness and financial management

You are an effective leader who can:
• lead and coordinate teams to deliver high-quality work on time

• mentor and support staff through training, guidance, and performance feedback
Financial and technical expertise
You have knowledge of:
• budget, forecasting and accounting practices
• risk assessment and management principles, and can make appropriate business recommendations
• financial management strategies, business planning, and transformation initiatives
You have demonstrated experience with:
• software applications and financial information systems (e.g. spreadsheet, data management, word-processing, presentation software) to prepare materials, analyses and reports
Analytical and problem-solving skills
You can:
• review forecasts and financial statements for accuracy and completeness
• identify potential issues and provide recommendations
• analyze financial and resource management and recommend allocations in response to constraints, priorities, and pressures
Communication and interpersonal skills
You are a clear communicator who:
• can prepare and deliver presentations on recommendations and reports, and provide advice to the audience
• can work with senior staff regarding issues and provide financial expertise and advice regarding accounting policy and standards
• can collaborate with staff and senior management to address and resolve issues
