Groupe Marcelle is currently looking for a Buyer, Chemicals for a permanent position.

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing all chemicals and shipping supplies. They will review system messages to validate requirements and prepare purchase orders accordingly. Positioned strategically within a Quebec-based company, the Buyer will contribute to the development and growth of our cosmetics and beauty care product lines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Workplace: 9200, Côte-de-Liesse Road, Montreal, Quebec in hybrid mode (minimum three (3) days a week in the office).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support new product launches and ensure timely replenishment of existing inventory
  • Perform analysis and follow up on orders (review order confirmations, on-time delivery, contracts)
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities to improve profit margins on existing products
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues
  • Respond to requests from various departments related to purchasing
  • Initiate and implement purchasing strategies to achieve the department's objectives in terms of cost reduction, supplier consolidation, MOQ reduction, risk management, and supply consistency
  • Manage supplier performance by ensuring compliance with qualification criteria and required KPIs
  • Perform all other clerical tasks required to update and close files

WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of an ERP system (JD Edwards is an asset)

  • Solid understanding of supply chain management in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
