Econotech is seeking a highly capable Quality Lead to join the team supporting our busy chemistry, physical + optical and process pilot laboratories. Econotech is committed to long term growth and success and continues to develop its ISO17025-based quality management framework. The role is full-time permanent and based at our Annacis Island, Delta BC facility.

Role Details:
This role is suited to an experienced quality management professional with a firm grounding in chemical and other analyses. The successful candidate will lead the company’s Quality Management Program, which serves commercial testing production. Among other things, the work includes Quality Management System development and governance, and the quality task side of standard method and live Order-level issue management. The role reports to Operations Management, works closely with and is co-accountable to lab supervision and technical leadership, and interacts with lab technical and client-facing teams as needed.
This is a demanding role requiring a driven professional with the skill set and energy to fulfil all aspects of our quality management needs.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the quality management system (QMS)
- Onboard new/returning employees and refresher training of the QM system
- Complete Quality Investigations, data collating, analysis and reporting
- Maintain accreditations according to operational needs
- Coordinate and monitor proficiency testing as required for training activities and/or lab accreditation
- Identify quality weaknesses and risks, and develop corrective measures and/or new operational procedures
- Make recommendations to Management on improvements to quality and operational practices
- Collaborate with managers and analysts to support and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality
- Monitor, evaluate and report on effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
- Perform quality audits in accordance with the QMS and lab certification/accreditation
- Implement and maintain quality metrics in the LIMS and other systems
- Collaborate with technical leadership and staff and consult published standards to ensure development and revision of analytical procedures and calculation sheets meet quality standards
- Write protocols and assess outcomes for equipment validation, method verification/validation, excursion studies, etc.
- Management of document control, training records, and equipment records
- Maintain equipment records, calibration records, reference material logs, and routine maintenance logs
- Organize equipment calibrations
- Other duties as assigned
Suited to Candidates with the following Strengths:
- 7+ years’ paid experience working in GMP and/or ISO17025 frameworks.
- A proven quality management professional who has either held this grade of role before or holds the necessary experience and abilities to successfully step up into a role with org-level accountability.
- Personal drive and a strong sense of accountability. You can take ownership and set a high bar for your own performance and positive operational outcomes. You’re willing to both own the system and do the work.
- Organized and productive. Pragmatism to balance the tension between quality goals and operational or delivery constraints.
- An active contributor and team player. You want to build and share your knowledge to make the team more effective. You’ll assist where you can and won’t hesitate to ask for help.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with an ability to engage people in a positive manner.
- Computers aren’t a barrier. Highly proficient in MS Excel and Word and adaptable to software generally. Experience working with a LIMS system is a plus.
Compensation:
- Salary: $80k - 100k Annually subject to experience and competencies
- Annual Bonus: Typically, 5-10% of base salary depending on company and personal performance.
- Medical and dental benefits are available after a probationary period
