LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6 to 9-month contract opportunity with its Ottawa-based customer.

Key Tasks
- Perform general ledger reconciliations, including fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts
- Tasked with general accounting cleanup, account reconciliations (many never done before), month-end close, fixing legacy issues.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies and ensure financial statement accuracy
- Clean and organize supporting financial records and documentation
- Support the month-end close process and preparation of journal entries
- Analyze and correct accounting entries, with full understanding of their impact on financial statements
- Support the SSC leadership with reporting and ad hoc financial tasks
- Rolling up sleeves, detailed investigative (“detective”) work, reconstructing fixed asset listings from up to 10 years’ data, populating Excel, massive data/tour work.
Key Qualifications
- Up to 7 years of experience supporting complex general ledger reconciliations, with a focus on fixed assets and other key balance sheet accounts
- Must have a strong foundation in accounting principles and experience working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
- Must have experience supporting the month-end close process and preparation of journal entries
Qualifications
- Progressive accounting experience, with strong reconciliation and
- GL experience
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience supporting month-end close and reporting processes
- Strong grasp of how balance sheet adjustments affect financial statements
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Experience with ERP systems; Deltek Vision is an asset
- CPA designation is a plus, but not required
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment
- Good communication skills
- Confident working with senior people
