About the role

Reporting Manager: Install Crew Supervisor

Location: St Thomas, ON

Multiple other location in ON.

Position Summary:

The Building Installer Labourer is considered a skilled labourer that is able to operate various pieces of equipment, and is able to complete all tasks assigned by the Install Supervisor

This position travels to various site location in Ontario and operates in a standard 5 days a week, 8-10 hours a day, however, work schedule will be amended and determined based on specific project requirements, extended / varying hours and overtime may and will be required.

Position Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge

  • Completion of Secondary Education or Equivalent
  • A valid Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract
  • Clean criminal record check and ability to be approved for secure sites
  • Possess WHMIS, Arial lift and working at heights certification or ability to obtain through employment
  • Knowledge of building construction specifically in the fabric building industry is an asset

Skills

  • Knowledge of hand/power tools
  • Able to operate equipment such as drills , impacts and hand tools
  • Able to operate various pieces of lift equipment
  • Grinding and other fabricating processes
  • Self-starter & Team Player
  • Able to travel and work on the road in various locations within Ontario
  • Physical strength is required for manual material handling
  • Comfortable working at heights

Experience

  • 2 year of related experience as a General Labourer in a construction environment

Communication

  • Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear all PPE required for the job
  • Have attention to detail and accuracy
  • Perform multiple building construction related tasks
  • Responsible to keep work sites, orderly, and safe
  • May operate forklift, to load, unload, transport and store goods
  • Comfortable in a fast paced working environment
  • Frequent travel for extended periods of time, transportation meals and accommodations provided
