Production Supervisor
Full time, Evening Shift (Monday to Friday 4 - 12)

Job Description
Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, the Supervisor is responsible for planning and organizing all activities related to the supervision of production employees. In addition, he/she must make sure to make the necessary links in the departments of shipping, sanitation, and maintenance. The supervisor has to ensure the optimization of production and its operation, and provide a safe and productive working environment. The incumbent is results-oriented and able to work under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the health and safety of staff at all times.
- Manage employees and maintain a healthy work environment.
- Participate in weekly meetings with employees and management.
- Coordinate shipping and sanitation services, such as organizing the work, preparing purchase orders, ensuring order accuracy, etc.
- Identify the problems in the daily operations of the team and propose solutions.
- Enforce company policies and procedures (HACCP / GFSI), health and safety laws and regulations, and complete the required documents.
- Motivate and mobilize staff, evaluate and ensure their development.
- Manage employees; time sheets, integration, training, evaluation, replacements, etc.
- Monitor packaging and work with vendors to ensure correct inventory levels.
- Work closely with other departments and management on continuous improvement projects.
- Drive lean principles in all areas of the facility
- Ensure all quality checks are completed at their scheduled intervals.
- Assume any other responsibility compatible with their function, which is entrusted to them by his/her immediate superior.
Qualifications
- College diploma in food science, industrial engineering, operations management or any combination of relevant experience
- Three (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar position.
- Significant experience in the food industry, an important asset.
- Strong lean background with knowledge of Kaizen, 5S, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Have worked in an SQF-certified environment, an asset.
Skills
- Coach and mentor to the production team.
- Ability to make decisions, solve problems, and set priorities.
- Good communicator and a sense of active listening.
- A skilled negotiator, focused on problem-solving.
