JOB SUMMARY:
The Full Time Payroll & Benefits Administrator and Accounting Generalist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of our bi-weekly payroll for all employees and provide support in finance and other areas as required.
REPORTING TO: Director of Finance
SALARY RANGE: $63,000 - 69,000 (Annually)
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week (Hybrid and Compressed Work Week Opportunities)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of all employees (union, management and administration) on a bi-weekly basis using Ceridian Dayforce.
- Calculate and remit payment to WSIB, OPSEU (union dues), and EHT on a monthly basis.
- Administer benefits and pension plan enrollments and support staff with any related inquiries.
- Work cooperatively with Human Resources and Scheduling Team to ensure compliance with the collective agreement and legislative requirements.
- Monthly reconciliations of all payroll liability accounts.
- Responsible for posting the payroll journal entries and required monthly accruals in QBO.
- Processing of the yearend and T4s through Ceridian Dayforce. Provide staff with T2200s as required. Process ROEs as required.
- Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
- Administer various financial systems, including Float, Telpay, My Community Hub, working with program teams to ensure timely reporting.
- Administer monthly rent collection from housed individuals.
- Administer CLCY’s PassportONE profile, coordinating with service teams and individual recipients.
- Manage financial contracts for people supported. Full cycle processing which includes managing and submitting signed contracts, setting up budgets in the accounting system, updating financial reports, updating forms, expense recording, account billings and transaction audits.
- Reconciling of accounts payable, accounts receivable, clearing accounts, and other balance sheet items on a regular basis.
- Provide support with various bookkeeping functions.
- Ensuring the application of proper accounts payable HST recoveries according to Municipality and Charity statuses.
- Assisting with year-end processes, reconciliations and audit working files.
- Assist the Director of Finance with financial reporting as required.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PCP designation with Canadian Payroll Association a definite asset.
- Experience using Ceridian Dayforce, QuickBooks Online, Telpay
- Post-secondary education in Accounting and Business.
- 5+ years in payroll.
- Experience administering payroll in a unionized setting a definite asset.
- Detail-oriented and professional.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel computer knowledge and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good judgment skills and the ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills in English are essential.
- A pleasant personality and enjoys working with people.
- Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Required (must be valid within 6 months of hire date)
