Process Improvement Leader, Tax
About the role
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Improvement Leader to join our Tax Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public company reporting and corporate tax, a CPA designation, and experience in process improvements. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our tax strategy, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimize tax benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical tax expertise and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for tax planning and process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build or integrate processes to streamline operations and improve financial performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret the tax implications of business strategies and product offerings.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and industry regulation, providing timely updates and recommendations.
- Tax insurance administration for policy holders, including capital gains on policy holder investments and T3 slips.
- Conduct tax research and analysis on issues affecting our products, investments, and corporate structures.
- Develop and maintain documentation for tax positions, supporting audit defense and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business
- CPA designation
- 3-5 years' experience
- Experience in a mid-sized accounting firm with exposure to public company reporting and corporate tax/GST
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Process improvement experience
- Leadership skills
