Job Title: Fractional Controller (Remote / Winnipeg Preferred)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Fractional Controller to support our finance operations on a part-time, contract basis. This role is ideal for a CPA-designated professional with strong hands-on experience in month-end close processes, financial analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting our finance team with strategic insights and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the month-end close process , including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with company and regulatory standards.
• Handle ad-hoc financial analysis requests, such as evaluating the profitability of specific marketing campaigns or operational initiatives.
• Provide regular check-ins and oversight to the internal finance team (2 AR, 2 AP, 1 Senior Accountant).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial processes and improve reporting efficiency.
• Support audit and compliance-related tasks, as needed.

Requirements:

• CPA designation (mandatory).
• Proven experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting role, preferably in a fractional or consulting capacity.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, month-end processes, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to handle one-off financial assessments with agility.
• Experience managing or working closely with AR/AP functions.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with stakeholders and team members.
• Comfortable with remote work setup; preference for candidates based in Winnipeg or with local availability.
