You as Customs Clearance Coordinator you will manage the accounts within operations team ensuring the efficient and compliant processing of import shipments through customs, arranging domestic trucking and performing other value-added services as required Your Typical Shift will be Monday - Friday 4.30pm - 12.00am
How you create impact
- Ensure classifying data entry, photocopying, scanning and some assembling of entries
- Auditing commercial documents, applying harmonized tariff schedule code for accurate duty assessment and to ensure all federal requirements are met
- Document review and assessment of accuracy, verifying country of origin/export, IOR, terms of sale and value to ensure that compliance and federal regulation requirements are achieved
- Daily follow up on documentation discrepancy issues which requires the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and foreign origins
- Ensure all Across, Cadex (CAD) and CW warnings are actioned in a timely Manner
- Read and follow client notes, SOP as well as any and all updates necessary to process in a timely and compliant manner
- Make the Customer Care Representative aware of any occurrences that may prevent the compliant release of any goods

What we would like you to bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in similar role from freight forwarding industry is needed specifically via Road Mode
- In-depth knowledge of customs/brokerage, government regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software (Cargowise)
- Certified Customs Specialist from original CSCB certification program would be a asset
- Knowledge on tariff classification, OGD requirements, permits, amendments, NAFTAs, etc.
