About the role
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

Responsible to lead, coach and provide guidance to all brewing team members ensuring all beverages produced are within specifications, aligned with beer profile and produced with an award winning and industry leading mindset

Lead on day-to-day brewing activities and provide recommendations for improved workflow, continuous improvement, and sustainability participate in recruitment and selection process
-
Actively participate in the recruitment and selection process for brewers
-
Create an inclusive environment for the brewing team to effectively execute both team and individual goals.
-
Create and maintain the Brewing Teams Training Road Map; provide training and development opportunities for the brewing team to collective apply continuous improvement methodology to achieve greater outcomes.
-
Lead in the communication of all Brewing KPI’s to the internal team and maintain a record of all outcomes, improvement, and issues as they arise.

Ensure SOPs are followed by brewing team; updated and create new Standard Operating Procedures as required
-
Oversee sanitation program ensuring all cleaning protocols are followed as scheduled at a minimum
-
Working with the Director of Quality & Efficiency and Brew Master on CFIA implementation and ongoing compliance
-
Working closely with the Purchasing Manager in sourcing, purchasing and inventory of brewing raw materials including but not limited to yeast, hops, malt etc.
-
Work efficiently with ERP/Business Central, lead in brewing reports, data entries, and analysis of information, audits and raw materials/liquid month end counting
-
Scheduling of brewing waste products (yeast, grain etc)
-
Work collaboratively with the Quality team to ensure quality assurance practices are followed with the brewing team, actively participate in daily sensory, and communicate quality specs prior to beverages being released.
-
Attending monthly sales forecasting meetings and weekly production planning meetings to create a solid brewing and centrifuging schedule weeks in advance to cover ongoing demand.

Covering brewing shifts/duties as needed in the event brewers are on vacation or sick

Support Brew Master on innovation and Moonlight Kettle projects as required
Qualifications:

University or College diploma in Brewing Operations
-
A minimum of 3 years as an active brewer
-
Excellent prioritizing and project management skills with the ability to handle various deadlines
-
Good internal and external customer-oriented communication skills both oral and written
-
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
-
Well organized with a strong attention to details
-
Ability to negotiate and hold suppliers accountable while maintaining positive relations
-
Must be dependable and take accountability.

Flexible to work a variety of hours with the ability to respond to business needs as they arise.
