Job Overview
We’re a fast-growing CPG brand on a mission to make breakfast better—with healthy, delicious cereals that fuel your day the right way. As a small, passionate team, we’re building something special and are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions including sales (Shopify, Amazon, wholesale), expenses, and vendor payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and payment platforms (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable; follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Support month-end close and financial reporting in collaboration with our fractional CFO or accounting partner.
- Track inventory-related expenses, including COGS, freight, warehousing, and co-packing costs.
- Assist with payroll processing and expense reimbursements.
- Prepare sales tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant state regulations.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
- Support budgeting and cash flow forecasting efforts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within accounting or finance.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, bank reconciliation, budgeting, and account analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally.
