About Us

We’re a small to mid sized fast-paced CNC machine shop serving high-demand industries including defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a highly organized Operations Coordinator to work directly with ownership and keep our production running smoothly from end to end.

About the Role

The operations coordinator ensures efficient scheduling, resource allocation and workflow within a CNC machining environment. This is a hands-on, catch-all role supporting the daily operations of the business. You’ll be responsible for job tracking, procurement, scheduling, shipping coordination, and ensuring production stays on track. You’ll act as the key liaison between production, vendors, and management to keep production running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track weekly/monthly deliveries to ensure deadlines are met
  • Create and manage job schedules and work travellers
  • Generate purchase orders for materials and outside processing
  • Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and follow-up with outside vendors
  • Prepare shipping of outgoing parts including packing slips, box labels, and courier documentation
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities; occasionally count and verify incoming/outgoing parts
  • Maintain tooling inventory, organize regrinds, and place tool orders as needed
  • Match invoices with packing slips and assist with purchase tracking
  • Follow up on open items from production meetings and ensure accountability
  • Ensure setup sheets and job travellers are digitized, accurate, and in use on the floor

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably CNC or job shop environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and follow-through with internal teams and external vendors
  • Working knowledge of purchasing, shipping, and production coordination
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, email, and ERP/MRP systems
  • Valid driver’s license (for occasional deliveries or pickups)
  • Comfortable working in a shop-floor environment and around CNC equipment

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with outside processes (anodizing, heat treat, etc.)
  • Experience with tool crib or use of job boxes
  • Ability to read setup sheets, packing slips, and basic production documentation

Compensation

  • Competitive salary based on experience, including extended health benefits
