Who are we looking for?
Our Rail and Transit group located in our GTA Offices is looking for a Senior Tunnel Inspector to perform inspection duties underground tunnelling projects.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Responsibilities
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
- Inspections: Completing day-to-day inspections of tunnel construction including in accordance with client terms of reference and manuals
- Safety: Working safely in conformance with GHD’s Behaviour-Based Safety culture and in conformance with all safety requirements of the railway
- Project Management: Daily completion of project records / diary entries
- Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
- Contract Management: Monitoring contractor work for compliance with contract specifications and Monitoring applicable safety and environmental legislation
- Policy Development and Implementation: Taking action, in consultation with Construction Manager and in accordance with contract requirements, when non-conformances are observed
- Improvement/Innovation: Making recommendations / proposing solutions for emerging project issues
- Work schedule: Working nights, weekends, extended shifts. Working overtime hours as necessary
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level
- OACETT rcsi designation, or PEO EIT designation considered an asset
Experience
- General Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in QA/QC inspection of TBM tunneling with precast concrete segmental lining
- Management: Sound judgment and decisiveness; strong organizational, administrative, observational and problem-solving skills;
