Position Status: Regular Full Time Location: Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre, Seating Clinic BW Hours: 77.50 FTE: 1.00 Shift: Days Shift Times: 0800-1615 Union: HSAA Rate of Pay: 35.45 - 46.69 PCN: 26SCRET07
Date Competition Closes: July 03, 2025 The Opportunity
This position is responsible for the design, fabrication, fit and repair of seating components that meet the needs of the Seating Clinic customers, in support of the business plan and Carewest’s Frame of Reference. Responsible for other related duties as required.
Program summary: Adult Regional Seating Clinic – a specialized community service where individual needs of clients are assessed and special equipment prescribed and fabricated to make clients safer, more comfortable and independent in their wheelchairs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Therapy Assistant Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of basic anatomy and biomechanics courses preferred
- Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) Program
- Knowledge working with various metals, wood, plastics, viscoelastics, gels and foams required
- Knowledge of mobility and commercial seating components and systems required
