HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

Approximate # of hours: 15

Type of Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends & Holidays

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Clerk provides office administration support to the Paediatric Outpatient Clinic (POP) by coordinating clinic activities, booking/managing patient appointments, entering orders, processing paperwork and patient files.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Successful completion of a Ward Secretary/Medical Office Administration course or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum Grade 12 Education.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Good knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good knowledge of appointment scheduling
  • Proficiency with various computer programs such as: MS Office Suite, Plexxus, EPIC
  • Data Entry/Keyboarding Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, telephone etiquette
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact in a patient and inter-professional team-based clinic setting
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and to handle change in the work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high stress area, handle multiple tasks at a time and be flexible with work tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently in a busy clinic setting.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement, or in a group as a team member
  • Must be patient and team focused/driven
  • Demonstrated pattern of good attendance, with the ability to maintain this standard
