Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Permitting and Compliance Manager to join our team in British Columbia. This key role will support infrastructure and industrial projects by ensuring necessary environmental permits and authorizations are obtained efficiently and effectively for construction.

This role sits within the Global Resilience Business Area.

Role accountabilities: As an Environmental Permitting and Compliance Manager, your role will include:

  • Assisting the design and project teams in environmental regulatory planning and compliance requirements.
  • Leading the preparation and submission of environmental and regulatory plans, and environmental permit applications to federal and provincial agencies.
  • Completing Environmental Impact Assessments and assisting private and government clients in obtaining Environmental Assessment Certificates.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental assessment (EAC) and permit conditions on projects through effective tracking, reporting, and sign-off processes.
  • Managing and overseeing permitting work that involves multiple disciplines including freshwater and marine aquatic habitats.,
  • Providing strategic regulatory and environmental advice to clients related to project design, impact mitigation, and obtaining environmental approvals.
  • Maintaining effective and good working relationships with EAO, DFO, FLNRO, other government agencies, Indigenous nations, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience: The successful candidate will have a proven track record in environmental permitting processes within British Columbia. They will also have proven experience in interpreting and implementing provincial and federal environmental regulatory requirements. Other requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, environmental science, or environmental resource management.
  • Professional designation or Qualified Professional status
  • 7 to 12 years of experience, with some experience in British Columbia, with infrastructure and industrial projects

The salary range for this position is $89,000-134,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
