CCC is proud of its over 100 years serving the Canadian Industry both in the distribution and manufacturing markets. A privately held Canadian Company, we are a successful supply chain partner providing “Intelligent Delivery” of products and solutions to the Industrial, Environmental, and Plastics industries. We currently operate two manufacturing sites in Colborne and Elmira, Ontario. The Elmira facility is CCC Suphur Products (Sulco Chemicals Limited) which is a manufacturer of sulphuric acid and sodium bisulphite. The Elmira facility operates a 200MT acid plant as well as a 960kW cogeneration plant. CCC also has supporting warehouses and sales representatives across Canada and in the Northeastern United States.

Position: Shift Engineer

Location: Elmira, ON.

Reports to : Chief Engineer, CCC Sulphur Products

CCC Sulphur Products is seeking a Shift Engineer with the following responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of safety and environmental standards
  • Maintain safe and efficient operation of a TSSA certified 2nd class steam plant, a 200MT acid production process, and a 960kW steam turbine cogeneration plant
  • Work alongside maintenance crews and process engineers to keep process equipment and instrumentation in safe working condition
  • Perform lab testing to sustain process water quality and effluent systems
  • Become proficient and competent in all aspects of site operations including truck and railcar loading/unloading, and packaging operations
  • Effectively communicate with customers, contractors, and neighboring facilities as required
  • Provide training and support to assistant operators
  • Uphold 5S housekeeping practices
  • Work independently with minimum supervision
  • Work a rotating, continental day/night shift schedule

Background Required

  • Valid TSSA 3rd Class Operating Engineers ticket
  • Completion of a post-secondary Power Engineering program or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years relevant work experience
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification
