At On Side, Flooring installers also act as Carpenters and General Repairs Technicians. They rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state GRTs use the skills of carpenters, drywallers, painters and magicians! The multi-talented flooring installer is skilled in the following ways:
- Installation of all types of flooring, doors, trim, moldings, and baseboards
- Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
- Framing
- Hardware installation
- Cabinetry
- Being awesome, in general!
What you bring
The flooring installer bring a host of abilities to their work with a ‘get it done!’ attitude.
Additional abilities required include:
- 5-10 years experience in flooring installation
- Experience working in construction environments
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Strong people and communication skills
- Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
- A safety mindset
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
- Ability to communicate in English
Other stuff that’ll help you be successful but isn’t mandatory:
- Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
- WHMIS
- First Aid
Of Note
Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Mother Nature usually doesn’t wait for an invitation, but we’re in the business of dealing with party crashers, and we’ve done it for over 40 years!
We have branches from Victoria, BC to St. John’s, Newfoundland and (almost) everywhere in between. Our fantastic team of over 2,000 employees stretches far and wide across Canada, and we’re growing—YOU could be the next great addition!

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
